In response to a request from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Skills Development to carry out an assessment of the skills gap in four initial priority sectors identified by the Government of Sri Lanka, the ILO commissioned this study to identify the critical issues that need to be addressed in order to bridge the gap generated by the skills mismatch in the four sectors. As such, this report serves as an overview of the skills gap in the information communication and technology industry, tourism and hospitality industry, construction industry, and light engineering industry.
