Abstract: This paper examines certain aspects related to the economics of managing Invasive Alien Species (IAS) focusing on the context in Sri Lanka. In this exercise we attempted to assess economic benefits/costs of managing IAS using the total economic value framework, and to review suitable criteria and guidelines that should be used in selection of policies for managing IAS.
